I'M ERIKA

Most would describe me as an energetic person that loves teaching and helping my students feel successful. But I am also a person who wants to make an impact, change, and grow to my best self as a person and educator.

MY STORY

Born in Houston, TX but raised in Virginia. I started my musical journey playing clarinet in the 6th grade Band. I absolutely loved it and became obsessed on doing all that I can in music.

That love for music propelled me to get a Bachelors in Music Education and Clarinet Performance. This was a milestone for me, as I was the first in my family to attend and graduate from college.

After college I became a Band Director and throughout my career I taught MS Band, HS Band, taught clarinet privately, and was a conductor for local young and adult community ensembles.

I moved all around the east coast and currently teach middle school band in Maine.

My biggest goal now is to make an impact in music education and the music community by providing resources that enable music educators and students thrive.

"As a conductor, Erika understands not only how to lead an ensemble with conviction, she also knows how to foster a comfortable yet professional working environment from the podium. Performing as a soloist under Erika’s baton was a highly enjoyable and meaningful experience for me and I continue to be inspired by her drive and passion for her craft."
