"Teach first, then rehearse!"
I am all about the music, but I am also about the education. As an educator, I want to make sure my students experience what I believe music education is today. An education that is inclusive on stage and in the classroom. Where students have access to instruments and other resources. A classroom culture that is about community and empathy. In which students are empowered to play with conviction and to demonstrate their knowledge. I use my passion for teaching to help you unlock not only your student's potential, but yours. Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs and I want you to not only love your job, but also succeed!
My courses will help you reach your unlimited potential as a music educator. Challenge you to reflect on topics such as DEIA in the music classroom, rehearsal techniques, building and sustaining a music program, and so much more!
"As a person who needs to grow and learn, itā€™s amazing to hear BIPOC musicianā€™s stories to better understand and examine this part of the music world. Erikaā€™s approach, dialogue, authenticity, and passion fuels the difficult conversations in a sensitive way. Thank you for doing this work!"

"Erika has been able to identify what is most important for music teachers to address in the first 30 days of the school year and her course was a huge asset to making my first year of teaching a success!"
